This might not be new to you, but I found a couple new to me things yesterday. First, ZMatrix, which is an app for your desktop background that animates falling code like the Matrix and is also a screensaver.
Second, I was trying out some emulated Mac OS X style docks for Win XP. First I tinkered with an OS X theme (via Kevin), then I looked at two different docks. I think I prefer the look of Mobydock, but Stardock's Objectdock does the nifty thing where icons bounce to get your attention. Mobydock has a lot of functionality built in, whereas Objectdock has had a lot of users in the community develop cool stuff for it. I've got them both installed, so I've yet to make a final decision. I downloaded about 150 icons for both of them, since Windows icons magnified mostly look like shit.
[Update]: Based on the fact that Mobydock keeps crashing, I'm sticking with Objectdock. [Screenshot]
