Ted Koppel read the names of all of the fallen American soldiers in Iraq with some commentary. "Our goal tonight was to elevate the fallen above the politics..." He did mention a bit about labelling anyone who disagrees with Bush' policies as "unpatriotic", but that's a given.

I popped over to thegofish, who always has fabulous rants, to learn that Sinclair Broadcasting donated something like $50k to the Republican National Committee in the last seven months, and the owner personally gave $2K to George W. Bush. Oh, and apparently the CEO was just arrested for a sex offense.

Even though Ted Koppell is against the war, it doesn't necessarily mean he was using the media to influence the population. But isn't that what the media does every day? American media is so skewed when it comes to politics.

All that Sinclair did by making an issue out of it was bring it to more people's attention and raise the ratings. Too funny.
