If you haven't heard from me and expected to, it's because my cell phone is off. I made it safely to Pittsburgh only to get really sick. I had breakfast at Kings with my grandparents and that was apparently a bad thing.
Posted by kim at September 11, 2004 05:30 PM | TrackBackSorry to hear that you are sick; I hope you get better soon. I went to Kings with three of my friends on August 22d, right after leaving Coopers Lake and the conclusion of Pennsic War 33.
I liked it a lot actually ; I ate a seafood platter thing, a plate of pierogies, and cheesecake. It was in Mars, PA , in someplace called Cranberry Mall or something like that.
But I've had food poisoning before and it does suck. I once was sick for one day in Feb. 1995 from a box of Sun Maid raisins so I never eat Sun Maid raisins anymore. Other raisins yes, Sun Maid no. In June 2000 I was sick for a week after eating the food at a friend's funeral so ever since that day I never eat food at funerals. I've never understood that tradition anyway.
I hope you get better soon and that this illness does not ruin your vacation.
Posted by: Joshua Aaron Day at September 11, 2004 06:46 PMWow. You know I'm from Mars, PA right?
I ate at the Kings by the airport tho.
Posted by: kim at September 11, 2004 06:59 PMI had pretty much deduced that you were somewhere in the neighborhood of Butler County by reading the blog. Mars is only about 30 minutes off site. I've been to the Pittsburgh airport too, in 1998 enroute to visit friends in Massachusetts on August 25th, 1998. I didn't eat anything there though I was just catching a connecting flight.
I have family on the other side of Pennsylvania in West Chester, my grandmother and my aunt ... but I rarely make it to that side of the commonwealth. I've got friends in CA too.... three in Los Angeles ( counting Glendale ) and one in San Francisco though I have never been out to the West Coast.
