ipod to seat-back display on your next flight?

Air France, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Emirates, KLM and UAL Corp.'s United Airlines will begin offering their passengers iPod seat connections, which power and charge iPods during flight and allow the video content on the devices to be viewed on seat-back displays.

The service will begin in the middle of next year."

Now that is pretty handy. It would definitely give me incentive to use the video iPod for tv shows from the iTunes store, instead of dealing with my laptop while the guy next to me keeps jabbing me with his elbow. On the other hand, seat-back displays aren't worth much when the person in front of you reclines. But heck, at least it would charge my iPod... those 6 hour flights to Pittsburgh are a real drain on the batteries.

Air France is denying it (dont remember where I saw that, but they said it was a premature discussion that had not been finalized), but still cool.

Most airlines that have seatback video have a rotating display. Besides, seatbacks only recline about 10deg. Not enough to kill viewing.
